Review Offer

During: Buying Process Overview: Writing Offer: Review Offer

Review Offer is all about you reviewing the draft of the offer that your real estate agent has sent over and asking questions. It is the fifth step in the Writing Offer process.

The Review Offer process is shown below.

REAL ESTATE BROKER: Entire offer with disclosures sent over via DocuSign

Once you've approved the draft offer with your Real Estate Broker, your Real Estate Broker will typically send over the entire offer including all the related disclosures to you via DocuSign.

Review entire offer and disclosures in DocuSign

Review the entire offer (that was already approved from your draft) especially if you asked your Real Estate Broker to make changes to your draft.

Also, take time to review all the additional disclosure documents included with the DocuSign envelope.

If there are any problems, DO NOT SIGN... tell your Real Estate Broker so they can make corrections.

  1. Read offer – Read through the offer making a note of any questions you have.
  2. Ask questions – If you have questions about the property or offer, discuss these with your real estate agent.
  3. Seek professional advice if required – If you have legal, accounting or other advice that your real estate agent is not qualified to give you, you may want to call a professional and seek this advice prior to signing your offer.

Once you’ve been able to Review Offer, then you’d let your agent know and they could prepare the offer so you can Sign Offer.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This checklist is based on what I personally use with clients in Northern Colorado. Please rely on your local real estate agent for how it works in your local real estate market. This process will definitely vary in different States.
