The Real Estate Financial Planner™ software has Charts that summarize the entire
Charts that detail each individual
Account,
Property, and
Goal within the
Scenario.
So, how do you drill down and look at Charts detailing key aspects of an
Account in a
Scenario?
First, from the Scenarios page, click on the
Chart icon. This will take you to the page where the
Charts are displayed.
Then, once you’re on the page summarizing the Scenario
Charts, you can click on the
Account
Charts button to view the
Charts specific to the
Accounts.
Once you click on the button to show the different Charts detailing key views into the
Accounts, you can click on the specific
Account Chart you’d like to see.
Account Charts
Here are some of the different
Account Charts available.

You can see all of the available charts from the Chart page itself.
Including and Excluding Specific Accounts
While viewing the Account
Charts, you can choose to include or exclude specific
Accounts on the
Chart.
If you look at the bottom of the chart you can see which accounts are currently being displayed. In the example below there are two accounts: VTSMX with CAGR of 8.97% shown in blue and Cash shown in red.
To remove an Account from being displayed on the chart simply click the title of the
Account you want to remove. If you wanted to view only the VTSMX with CAGR of 8.97%
Account click on the Cash
Account title. This will remove the Cash
Account from the chart and grey out the title as shown below.
To add the Cash Account back to the chart just click on the grayed out title.
This will add the Account back to the
Chart.
Sample Account Charts
Some charts are obvious; some are a little more nuanced. For example, it should be obvious that the chart for account balance shows the account balance of an Account in a
Scenario over time.
However, it may be less clear what cumulative deposits are. Holly will be creating separate help pages for each chart including charts for Scenarios,
Accounts,
Properties and
Goals.
Holly will add a few images of sample Account specific
Charts to show several different chart looks. She will also describe what is being displayed so that end users can get a feeling for the variety of charts they can view.
Some example Account
Charts she might include as samples include:
- Chart showing the Account Balance for 1
Account for the full duration of the
Scenario
- Chart showing results of Account Balance for a single
Account for a
Monte Carlo
- Chart showing results of 2 Account Balances of non-monte carlo for the entire duration.
- Chart showing the results of 2 account balances of
Monte Carlo results in the same
Scenario
- Chart showing Cumulative Returns and Deposits that demos how compound
Charts work and explaining basically here what is happening. Holly will go into more detail on that chart’s individual page.
If Holly needs help with creating sample charts for these, let me know.
Important Note
It is important to note that while you are able to view things like Account Balance, Yearly Rate of Return for one or more Accounts included in a specific
Scenario, you are not able to compare individual account balances for an
Account in one
Scenario to an account balance in a different
Scenario.
You can compare the total account balance (summing the balances of all the Accounts in a
Scenario to the total account balance of all the
Accounts in another
Scenario from the
Scenario
Charts page.
Removing an
Account from
Chart
You can choose to remove one or more Accounts from the
Account Chart by clicking on the
Chart from the list of
Accounts below the
Chart.
Holly will include an image demonstrating how to remove a chart here and describe what you are doing and how it changes what appears.
You can also choose to add Accounts to the charts. Holly will explain how to add an Account with both words and a screenshot in a future revision.
